Cardi B accepts Joe Budden's apology after criticizing her career
On Saturday (July 20), Cardi B took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and accepted an apology from Joe Budden for his criticism of her music career. This comes after the Bronx rapper slammed the popular podcaster for being a hater following his harsh comments about her music career as well as Drake's alleged $400 million deal.
“I got love for you in Joe but you've been changing your tone on me really hard for the past 3 years, whether it be music or personal,” Cardi wrote in her post, which you can see below. “Like, when I was having real trouble with my marriage in December, you went on the platform and you tried to do that for somebody else and what was going on.”
“I know criticism comes with the territory, but sometimes the narrative decides to run with being so toxic,” she added. “It's love I'll see you soon.”

Cardi B slams Joe Budden for Being a Hater
Cardi B's apology comes after she hopped on X Spaces on Thursday (July 18) and blasted Joe Budden for hating his scathing criticism of her oft-delayed sophomore album and calling her a “single artist.” The Grammy-winning rhymer also didn't like Joe talking about her marriage on his podcast.
“Shut the f**k up, you don't even know me,” Cardi said. “Everything you do, whether it's my personal life or my music, you always talk about it, but then you fake thirst for my album.”
She then recalled a time she gave Joe a dance around her stripper days when she worked at Starlet's.
“Brother, I gave you a lap dance twice with the f**kin' Starlets, you were high on coke, n***a. I could smell that coke on your breath.”
Joe caught Cardi swearing at him on X Spaces and eventually apologized to her on his X account. The rapper-turned-podcaster also promised to never say her name or talk about her career on his podcast moving forward.
“I promise and can assure you that I will not cover a single thing this girl does for the rest of her career…Peace and love,” Joe wrote in his post, adding, “Also, I have never taken oil from this lady. Also, I've never done coke.”
“She swears at me but she's still hilarious lol…. I'm going to bed, I apologize to @iamcardib for what I did and peace and love to all,” he concluded.
