For the first time in years, Beyoncé has shared a music video. Well, sort of: The new short, titled “Beywatch” and released on Election Day in the US, features her at a Halloween event as Pamela Anderson, singing along to a version of Cowboy Carter track “Bodyguard” and encouraging people to vote, before wishing us a happy “Beylloween”. Watch it go down below.
Beyoncé's latest music videos were taken from her visual album Black Is Kinglike their predecessors from the Lemonade film. Her last stand-alone solo music video was for “Formation”, in 2015, although she has appeared in some commercials soundtracked to her songs.
The release of “Beywatch” follows Kamala Harris' appearance last month at a rally in Houston, where she and former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland delivered a speech in support of the Democratic nomination and, in particular, reproductive freedom. She had previously given Harris permission to play her music (ie Lemonade track “Freedom”) at campaign events—an honor denied to former President Donald J. Trump.
