Benson Boone's beautiful year continued on Wednesday (April 10) as the unblocked artist performed his signature song on late night TV.
Wearing a smart suit, the Washington DC singer, songwriter and TikTok standout stopped by NBC The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a cover of “Beautiful Things”.
Lifting from his LP Fireworks & Rollerblades (via Night Street Records/Warner Records), “Beautiful Things” had an impressive, global run, logging seven non-consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, six weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, five at the top of Australia's ARIA Chart and on track for a fourth week at No.1 on the Official UK Singles Chart. In the US, “Beautiful Things” reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. On YouTube, the official music video has surpassed 100 million views in just two months.
For his evening slot, Boone leads a full band, a taste of the world tour that kicked off last week in Chicago.
“Man,” he said Advertising sign before his current jaunt, “all I'm thinking about is touring and going to places I've never been before. But after the tour, and after all the shows, I'm looking forward to just being with my friends. I think we'll go on a trip to Greece and have two weeks and live my life.”
The 21-year-old has been a regular on network television this week. Earlier, he interpreted his success for Todayshe looks casual in jeans, a jacket and a bandana.
“It's definitely been crazy for me the last couple of months,” he told the morning crew. Success is “something you hope for but never expect. But I'm grateful to feel like it's being heard and to have a song that's out there in the world and everywhere.”
