Ahead of his appearance at Coachella alongside his musical partner Skream, Benga took to Instagram on Tuesday (April 9) to reveal that he has to pull out of the festival as well as a number of upcoming tours.
“I have some tough news to share—I won't be able to make it to the upcoming Skream & Benga US tour dates. The visa process hit a snag at the end and they are asking for additional information,” captioned British DJ and producer (Adegbenga Adejumo). “I'm completely disappointed, my team and I have worked tirelessly to make this happen. But hey, I respect the process and stay positive.”
He continued, “I'm fine and I've had the best couple of years health-wise and I'm ready to get back out there. The journey wasn't easy, but the opportunity to tour with Skream again was amazing. I really appreciate all the love and support you've shown me since I've been back. I'm really sorry for all the inconvenience and frustration this is causing and I promise to keep you updated on what's going on.”
The dubstep pioneer assured fans that Skream will be playing a great solo “like a finger” during the upcoming tour dates and “asked some of the OGs to step up in my place.” For Coachella, Benga shared that he and Skream will return in 2025.
