After years of refinement, Become Led Zeppelin it finally has a release date and a trailer. The first official Led Zeppelin documentary hits IMAX theaters on February 7th. In the new teaser, footage of the legendary British band over the years is interspersed with current day interviews, old home movies and live concerts. He also reveals that the documentary features a never-before-heard interview with the late John Bonham. Check it out below.
As the first authorized documentary about the band, Become Led Zeppelin tells the story of Led Zeppelin in the members' own words. In addition to new interviews with Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, it boasts unearthed material from the personal archives of all four members. Director Bernard MacMahon also successfully uncovered previously unseen footage from the 1969 concerts at the Atlanta Pop Festival, the Fillmore West and the Texas Pop Festival.
“We spent five years flying back and forth across the Atlantic, searching for rare and unseen films, photographs and music recordings,” writer-producer Alison McGourty said in a press release. “We then transferred each piece of media using custom techniques so that in IMAX, these 55-year-old clips and music look and sound like they came out of the lab yesterday.”
