Fontaines DC collaborated with English director Andrea Arnold for a “Bug” music video. The song, taken from their new album, Romancecomes to life in the Arnold-directed clip, which features footage from her upcoming film Birdstarring Barry Keoghan and the band's own Carlos O'Connell, among others. Check it out below.
“Andrea Arnold was kind enough to cut a sequence to our song 'Bug' with Barry Keoghan playing the character Bug in her new film BirdO'Connell said. “'Bug' is a song that was made quickly and convinced everyone faster. In my eyes, the Bug character, the “Bug's Life” tattoo, Andrea's meaningful and romantic worlds, and the “Change my name to 'Promise you, Yea'” line. when all together make persuasiveness unnecessary and conviction unquestionable. Many thanks to Andrea Arnold for letting us so close to her visionary universe. She will be remembered the way we remember Bacon or Goya.”
Bird is Arnold's fifth feature film and follows the 2016 film American honey. It also stars Franz Rogowski and Nykiya Adams and is due out this Friday, November 8th.
Fontaines DC is currently on the way to support Romance. The massive tour takes them across Europe until the end of this year, before heading to Japan, Australia, South America and North America in 2025.
