Footwear brand PF Flyers has been making shoes since the 1940s with a focus on creating footwear that helps align the body's posture – in style, of course. The shoes have graced the feet of athletes such as Bob Cousy and even NASA's Gemini II team in the 1970s, according to the PF Flyer website. Now, the shoe brand is flying into a new era using inspiration from the early days of aviation with the launch of the PF Flyers Vintage Soles range.
In addition to serving as comfortable shoes to wear to work or pack in your luggage, the Vintage Soles collection serves as a celebration of the rapid innovations achieved by the aviation industry. There are three colorways to choose from: Clay, Cream and Black, and Black and Gum, depending on your style preferences. Every element of the high kicks represents the simplicity of the 1900s — including the colors, which were inspired by old newspapers and stamps. While the shoe is based on a best-selling silhouette from the past, it has been thoroughly updated with new materials and construction for 2024.

PF Flyers Center Hi Sneakers, Cream/Black
Trade your white sneakers for these edgy Center Hi shoes from PF Flyers, which feature an off-white canvas upper and a rubber sole that replaces the classic white look with a punk-approved black one. Inside, you'll find a foam pad that will absorb moisture, help align your posture, and keep you comfortable.
PF Flyers Center Hi Sneakers, Black/Gum
A neutral pair of black high top sneakers will keep your feet cozy. The shoes come with your standard canvas upper as well as a rubber toe guard that will keep your toes safe and increase the longevity of your kicks. The gum sole is also built with extra traction to keep you grounded — especially when you're changing terrains.
PF Flyers Center Hi Sneakers, Clay
Add a splash of red to your feet with these clay colored Center Hi sneakers. The upper features muted coloring inspired by aged paper and classic airmail envelopes, according to the product description. Amelia Earhart and the Wright Brothers were just a few of the historical figures the shoes were designed on, giving an elevated look in both height and style.
The high-top sneaker shape might remind you of another iconic shoe shape—the Converse Chuck Taylors—and it's no accident: PF Flyers were previously owned by a number of classic shoe brands, including Converse and New Balance. He has also been recognized for his remarkable placement in the film The Sandlots where you can spot their black high tops on the characters.
With nostalgia being one of the most talked about trends (besides Brat Summer), the Vintage Sole collection will take you even further back in time with styles representative of the early 1900s, re-released and revamped for today.
