50 Cent Claims Hacker Made $300 Million
On Friday (June 21), 50 Cent took to Instagram to clarify that he had nothing to do with the $GUNIT cryptocurrency that his website and X accounts were touting earlier today. Fif added that it was the work of a hacker, who made off with quite a large amount after defrauding 50's fans.
“My Twitter and Thisis 50.com hacked, I have nothing to do with this Crypto,” he wrote on Instagram. “Twitter worked quickly to lock my account again. Anyone who ever did this made $300,000,000 in 30 minutes.”
The Instagram included screenshots from the crypto $GUNIT, which started under $1 million in market capitalization and quickly skyrocketed.

50 Cent admits he never made a fortune from Bitcoin
50 Cent was once on board with the cryptocurrency trend, sort of. Back in 2018, the G-Unit frontman responded to a story published by TMZ saying that Fif made millions because he got in on the Bitcoin craze early. The Power The mogul also offered it as a payment option to his fans Animal Ambition album that year. According to the report, the 50 brought in about 700 bitcoins in sales, which were then valued at about $662 per bitcoin. The Queens rapper reportedly earned between $7 million and $8.5 million.
However, 50 said that wasn't happening immediately after the story aired. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the rapper had to answer for the reported amount in bankruptcy court and denied owning or using Bitcoin. 50 Cent stated that he did accept payments in Bitcoin, but that it never made him any money.
