The 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards delivered a record 112 million engagements across TV, digital and social platforms, up 36% from 2023, Telemundo announced Wednesday (October 23). This year's ceremony recorded the highest engagement for a special award in Telemundo history.
According to Nielsen, on a linear basis, the show – which included performances from stars such as Yandel, Grupo Niche and Fuerza Regida – reached a cumulative audience of 1.8 million viewers overall. Additionally, the two-hour telecast earned its time slot and led the network to No. 1 in both demos in Spanish-language primetime, the report further explains.
Telemundo's multi-platform coverage generated 106 million video views on social platforms, representing 43% growth from 2023. According to Talkwalker, the show was the No. 1 most social program in all of telecast with 1.2 million total interactions on Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube.
Locally, the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards ranked as the No. 1 primetime program in its time period, regardless of language, among adults 18-49 in Los Angeles and the No. 1 program on Spanish-language television in New York, Miami, Dallas, Chicago and other cities.
Karol G was the night's big winner with eight trophies, including Global 200 Latin artist of the year and tour of the year. Both Peso Pluma and Bad Bunny won six awards each. (See the full list of winners here.)
